The Manufactured Ghost Gun Epidemic

What is it with the Biden administration’s obsession for “ghost guns?” First, what are “ghost guns?” There’s actually no such thing. “Ghost guns” don’t exist. Manufacturers never created a “ghost gun” model or style of firearm. The term ghost gun is a nomenclature created by anti-2nd Amendment legislators and lobbyists to scare people who don’t know any better.

Recently, the ATF attempted to regulate unfinished frames and receivers through administrative measures. This rule was in response to a White House directive to address these so-called “ghost guns.”

Gun Owners Foundation (GOF) and Gun Owners of America (GOA) joined forces with Morehouse Enterprises, a gun shop out of North Dakota, and challenged the ATF, which was under President Joe Biden’s directive to push this new rule. Right after the lawsuit was initiated, the ATF inspected the gun shop, the first inspection Morehouse Enterprises had ever received. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

Not surprisingly, the ATF reported violations to Morehouse Enterprises. In what seems like a stretch to find anything valid to punish the gun shop, the ATF found a few paperwork errors and a couple of instances of data being accidentally put in the wrong box on a NICS form. Two months later, the ATF notified Morehouse Enterprises of its intent to revoke both of the company’s FFLs. Isn’t it interesting how the government creates a cumbersome background check process fraught with any number of ways to make errors and will then capitalize when someone does?

So why are the gun grabbers so intent and hyper-focused on regulating these so-called ghost guns?

First, all they’re really talking about when they use the term “ghost guns” are guns they cannot track back to the owner’s home address. When the anti-gun radicals in our government first rolled out the term “ghost gun,” the culprit was 3-D printed guns. The public was taught to believe that everyone was printing firearms at their kitchen table and the world would be an unsafe “Wild West” unless the federal government stepped in and did something to “keep people safe.”

The truth is families have owned non-serialized firearms since the founding of our Country. It has never been any of the Government’s business who has guns and where they are located. Ever since the ability to print gun parts, the anti-gun lobby and Democrats in Congress saw an opportunity to create a new fear campaign called the “ghost gun” and blame it on the 3-D printer. By taking advantage of this newly manufactured “3-D printed ghost gun epidemic,” they were able to fabricate legislation that would cover all unserialized firearms. They never wanted your 3-D printed parts. They want the registry that serialization legislation will afford them.

The truth is they just wanted an excuse to regulate and document every single firearm transaction. The ultimate goal? To create a gun registry where the government knows the exact location of every firearm in America.

We all know what happens after a gun registry is created. Don’t forget many states have already implemented Red Flag Laws. Red Flag Laws are the vehicle by which guns can be confiscated without due process. But before guns can be confiscated, they need to be located. Serialization is the magic GPS system to locate Firearms in America and “ghost gun” is the scary term that will raise support for the needed legislation.
