Washington, DC – -(AmmoLand.com)- A host of Republican congressional members and second amendmentt actvists gathered outside the Capitol Building on Tuesday to express opposition to a pair of anti-gun pieces of legislation that House Democrats are poised to bring to the floor for a vote.

Several House Republican lawmakers held a press conference Tuesday on Capitol Hill to protest two Democrat bills that would restrict Americans’ Second Amendment right.House Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA), House Republican Conference Chairman Liz Cheney (R-WY), House Judiciary Ranking Member Doug Collins (R-GA), and Reps. Phil Roe (R-TN), Richard Hudson (R-NC), Randy Weber (R-TX), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Kelly Armstrong (R-ND), Greg Steube (R-FL), and activists Like Anthony Colandro from Gun For Hire in New Jersey attended and spoke against HR 8 and HR 1112 – Universal Background Checks.

“HR 8 is taking the fears and concerns of a nation over gun violence and perpetrating a fraud over them,” said Republican Georgia Rep. Doug Collins, the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee. “[Democrats are] preying upon the very victims that they’re wanting to supposedly help by putting a bill out there that will not help them, by constantly bringing up the mass violence instances such as at schools and theaters and others — they’re saying this will help.”

“The problem with this bill, and they [Democrats] just exposed it to themselves, is the Obama administration’s Department of Justice said if you’re going to at least try universal background checks, you have to have a registry,” Collins continued.

Update: The Democrat house majority passed H/R. 8 and H.R. 1112 by a 240 -190 vote anyway.

USA – -(AmmoLand.com)- Two weeks ago, leader of the Socialist Party, (formerly known as Democrat Party) and current Speaker of the House of Representatives, said this:

“I know the Republicans have some unease about it, no matter what they say. Because if the president can declare an emergency on something that he has created as an emergency, an illusion that he wants to convey, just think of what a president with different values can present to the American people. You want to talk about a national emergency? Let's talk about today, the one-year anniversary of another manifestation of the epidemic of gun violence in America. That's a national emergency. Why don't you declare that emergency, Mr. President? I wish you would. But a Democratic president can do that. [A] Democratic president can declare emergencies as well.”

On these pages here at AmmoLand News, I warned that Pelosi didn’t pull that sentiment out of thin air. To be sure, I wrote:

“Nancy Pelosi has just made it clear, in no uncertain terms, that her party is willing to abolish the Second Amendment with the stroke of a pen via executive fiat and when the next Democrat is (inevitably) elected, they intend to do so.”

On Monday, Nancy Pelosi sat next to New York Governor, fellow Socialist and gun hater, Andrew Cuomo as he signed the latest “red flag” gun confiscation bill into law, this one allowing teachers and school administrators to seek gun confiscation orders from a judge. After Cuomo signed the bill into law, Pelosi opened her mouth once again, this time to reconfirm her desire and imply that a future Socialist Party president would use executive action to declare “gun violence” a national emergency.

“This gun violence issue is a national health epidemic in this country and Mr. President, if you want to talk about emergencies, this is an emergency.”

Her statement, in front of a cheering crowd of New York gun grabbers in attendance for the bill signing, was met with applause and a standing ovation.

Understand, Nancy Pelosi’s repeated threat is a warning. Taken in context, Pelosi is comparing the invasion of our nation's borders that President Trump has officially declared a national emergency to her party’s hatred of our right to gun ownership for the sole purpose of using such action in the future to take that right from us. Rest assured that Pelosi has not only tipped her hat once, but her latest remark confirms that she and her party intend to subvert our Bill of Rights. If a Socialist wins the White House in 2020, you can expect the first mass killing to result in executive action to do such. [the bill is just waiting and just needs the blood of innocents for Demcrats to make their move.]

While a sitting Speaker of the House making unbridled threats against the Consitution and the rights of every American is in itself, remarkable and should be of concern to all of Americans, it wasn't the only statement that caught my attention during that dog and pony show in New York. Cuomo, in his usual and abrasive New York tone, made one of the stupidest comments I’ve ever heard, particularly from a Governor surrounded by gun-haters (and armed security) who only claim to have the best interest of “the children” in mind. Taking a swipe at Trump’s calls for arming teachers to keep students safe, Cuomo told those in attendance what he thought of the idea:

“I mean, how ludicrous a concept — arm the teacher so when the bad person comes into the classroom, there can be a shootout in the classroom. I mean, really, ludicrous and nonsensical.”

Read that again, I did. The New York Governor finds it “ludicrous” (which according to Webster’s Dictionary means, “1. amusing or laughable through obvious absurdity, incongruity, exaggeration, or eccentricity. 2. meriting derisive laughter or scorn as absurdly inept, false, or foolish”) to allow someone at the school to protect “the children” with a gun.

Let’s rewrite that idiot's statement for him and put it into context. Imagine if Cuomo had said, “I mean, how ludicrous a concept – arm my security detail so when a bad person comes into my office there can be a shootout in the office. I mean, really, ludicrous and nonsensical.” Maybe the Governor should have said, “I mean, how ludicrous a concept – arm the security staff here on site so when a bad person comes into the bill signing, there can be a shootout in the bill signing. I mean, really, ludicrous and nonsensical.”

What this tells me is New York Governor Cuomo is okay with a one-way massacre occurring at the scene of one of his “gun-free school zones” but not in any room where he is in attendance. In fact, not only is this imbecile okay with it, he finds the suggestion to protect “the children” with the same means of protection he brazenly uses, laughable.

Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing laughable about what I just wrote, that a Governor of a U.S. state would not afford “the children” he supposedly wants to protect, the very same protection he insists upon for himself.

The next time you hear me on-air say that liberalism is a disease, you know why. These people and their supporters, Pelosi and the whole lot of em, including the morons who pull the lever for them, are flat out sick in the (insert in-appropriate adjective) head.

USA – -(AmmoLand.com)- Yesterday, President Donald Trump made clear he will sign the latest budget measure funding the government thereby averting another shutdown. The bipartisan bill did not include consideration for a wall to stop the illegal flow of criminal aliens and smuggling that plague our southern border. As expected, The White House announced that the president would sign the bill but declare the border a national emergency using executive order and appropriate the necessary border wall funding from other government agencies.

Many of us love the idea. It’s a slap in the face to the nasty Socialists (masquerading, at least for now, as Democrats) who have stonewalled and obstructed President Trump from day one.

On the other hand, as I discussed on Armed American Radio a couple of weeks back, such an executive order may also set a dangerous precedent. It’s the old, “Be careful what you wish for; you may just get it” saying. Nancy Pelosi wasted no time. Within minutes of that announcement from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., she said this:

‘I know the Republicans have some unease about it, no matter what they say. Because if the president can declare an emergency on something that he has created as an emergency, an illusion that he wants to convey, just think of what a president with different values can present to the American people,' she said. ‘You want to talk about a national emergency? Let's talk about today, the one-year anniversary of another manifestation of the epidemic of gun violence in America,' Pelosi said, referencing the one-year anniversary of the Parkland, Florida school shooting. ‘That's a national emergency. Why don't you declare that emergency, Mr. President? I wish you would. But a Democratic president can do that. [A] Democratic president can declare emergencies as well,' she threatened.

So there you have it mass gun confiscation from the mouth of Democrats.

In one bold, profound statement, Current speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, second in line to the White House after the vice-president in order of succession, finally said what we all know she and the rest of the Democrats have in store for us when (inevitably) another Democrat is elected President. In case you still have trouble understanding, let me make it clear for you. Nancy Pelosi has just made it clear, in no uncertain terms, that her party is willing to abolish the Second Amendment with the stroke of a pen via executive fiat and when the next Democrat is (inevitably) elected, they intend to do so.

From this point forward you know that the next elected Democrat to occupy the White House will declare “gun violence” a national emergency. How might such an executive order play out? What happens in the minutes, hours, days, weeks, and months after such a declaration? No one truly knows as its never before happened but being told now that it's on the table for our future we might want to start considering such a scenario.

First, I imagine such an order would be signed within minutes of the first (again, inevitable) mass shooting that occurs on the new Democrat President's watch. Based on Pelosi’s comments, we can rest assured that such an order will already be written and eagerly awaiting a mass murder for immediate signature. Now what? More likely than not, the first order of business will be an immediate cessation of all retail gun sales. Think about the economic consequences of that alone. Businesses and livelihoods crushed overnight. The Democrats won’t care. They’ll be cheering the destruction of this segment of our economy just as newly elected Socialist dimwit Cortez cheered the loss of billions of dollars of tax revenue and 25,000 jobs paying $150,000.00 each in her district when Amazon pulled out due to her hostile statements. (You can’t make this stuff up)

Second, I would imagine a registration scheme to follow suit. Once all retail gun sales have been stopped, all gun owners will be required to submit their firearms collections in detail including serial numbers along with the physical location of each gun. Being there are more retail gun shops in communities than there are ATF offices, it might not be a stretch to see those shops used by government agents for the sole purpose of collecting those gun registration/location forms.

Third, confiscation. Upon the issuance of such an order and the completion of a registration scheme, (if the Democrat president and his party associates in the House and Senate genuinely believe there is a national emergency) they will have no choice but to take from us what they deem to be the problem. Leaving civilians armed will not alleviate the perceived problem. Confiscation must occur.

They will likely tell us that they don’t want to destroy our rights and this drastic measure is temporary. We will get our guns back as soon as the Democrats in power deem there to be no more threat. They respect the Second Amendment, but this is for our own good and the safety of the children. They will shame us and remind us that as Americans, it is time to act to end “gun violence.” See how simple it is to disarm us? An executive order, signed by a well-meaning Democrat president and an orderly march of law-abiding citizens complying quietly for the good of the children while Nancy Pelosi sits atop her throne clapping at us for doing the right thing at the right time, for our nation.

Right….

It may be possible that psychologically someone who threatens executive action to declare “gun violence” a national emergency as a way to end-run the rights of over 100 million Americans may believe all of us will quietly line-up at registration booths and turn in our guns. It may also be possible that the same person may not believe that millions of decent, hard-working American’s will resist. Millions.

Ms. Pelosi just told you everything you need to know about her party’s plans. What you do with that knowledge is up to you.
