Bidens Should Reimburse the Taxpayers $345,400 For Personal Travel, Just Like Courts Ordered Former NRA CEO

First Lady Jill Biden reportedly racked up $345,400 in travel costs last week, zipping back and forth across the Atlantic Ocean so she could attend her son’s trial on federal gun law violations, and the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms says the Biden family, not taxpayers, should foot the bill.

“A federal court in New York recently found former National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre financially responsible for personal trips he made at NRA expense,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, “so we should expect the Biden family to be held to the same standard.”

A published report says the Democratic Party will “chip in some funds,” but taxpayers—including American gun owners—will get stuck with the balance of the bill.

Mrs. Biden flew from Washington, DC, to Delaware to attend Hunter Biden’s trial last Tuesday and then flew overnight Wednesday from Wilmington to Paris to attend the 80th anniversary of the D-Day event. She flew from Paris back to Wilmington on Thursday to be back in the courtroom. On Friday, she flew back to Paris so she could attend a Saturday event with French First Lady Brigitte Macron and attend a state dinner that evening with President Joe Biden.

“That’s a lot of back-and-forth, much of it on personal travel, so why is the DNC paying any part of it,” Gottlieb questioned. “If the DNC is paying, is this election-related, and how? Is it to hopefully prevent Hunter from becoming a bigger campaign issue, and if not, are the Biden’s declaring this as income, and will they be paying taxes on it, because it covers a personal expense. How is the DNC going to classify this expense reimbursement?

“If the DNC’s justification for picking up the expense is that it is election related, it would have to be because the intent to keep Hunter’s trial from becoming a campaign issue,” he said. “If so, isn’t that equal to the election interference charge leveled against Donald Trump in a New York courtroom?”

American taxpayers should no more have to pay any part of that tab than NRA members had to pay for LaPierre’s personal trips. It’s tough to juggle courtroom appearances with foreign photo ops, but if you play, you should pay.”

Mrs. Biden flew home Sunday on Air Force One with the president. The Democrat party said it would cover the cost of her travel, but there was no word on who pays for her staff travel or her Secret Service detail.

“Actually,” Gottlieb said, “none of this would have been necessary if Hunter Biden had simply been truthful on a federal firearms form, and just said ‘no’ to drugs.” This whole fiasco is wrong for more reasons than the number of rounds that can be held in the magazines Joe Biden wants to ban.”
