How insightful were our Founding Fathers? They knew how important firearms were. They knew the leverage firearms gave to the average person. They had also experienced the worst of mankind, so they understood the enemy.
At the time of our founding, men took up arms to fight for something they never had yet knew instinctively that they should have. Freedom.
Why today are some men so willing to give up that freedom our Founders fought for in exchange for a perceived sense of safety while other men are willing to give up safety for freedom?
Realistic, logical-thinking Americans are willing to take responsibility for their lives and the lives of their families, knowing full well that no one will come to save them. So, you may ask yourself, do we still have that traditional American spirit? I would say yes.
Unfortunately, many among us have been conditioned to put their and their family’s lives and safety in the hands of politicians and bureaucrats, who do not have their best interests in mind.
The tragic murders in Lewiston, Maine, on the same day a new Pro-2A Speaker of the House was announced, are shocking reminders that personal safety is always our responsibility, not that of the police or politicians.
These same bureaucrats gladly take your money and your vote and squander both while using the opportunity to control the lives of those they represent. When they can’t get the control they seek, they move to disarm their political opposition. Our Founding Fathers saw these people coming over 200 years away. That’s why the 2nd Amendment was written. They also knew the evil in the hearts of some men, and they understood the potential for foreign attacks. Israel has recently experienced a most heinous attacks on their citizens. The obvious question is, how would Israelis have fared had they been heavily armed like we are in America?
The quote, “You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass,” which many attribute to Admiral Yamamoto of the Japanese Navy during WWII, is often dismissed by the anti-gun radicals here in America. They discredit it because it validates guns as being a deterrent to violence and gun owners as strong defenders of our Country.
Isn’t it interesting how the weak and irresponsible despise the strong and responsible?
Isn’t it interesting how some among us will fight against their own best interest in the name of politics if only to get a cheap win for their side? This is even after watching gun control fail in other countries and freedom swiftly stripped away. So, who are the real enemies of American freedom? Is it the politicians trying to disarm you, or is it the small group of politically driven citizens among us encouraging them to do so?
