Gun-Banner Mfume’s Call for a ‘Street Fight’ Looks to Be a Desperate Deflection

Give us your guns and we’ll start a street fight. And stop looking into how we spend your money.(Kweisi Mfume/Facebook)

“A Democratic congressman is facing heat from conservatives on social media after promoting the idea of a ‘street fight’ at a protest pushing back against Elon Musk’s recent efforts to slash government waste through the newly created DOGE [Department of Government Efficiency] office,” Fox News reported Tuesday.

“This will be a congressional fight, a constitutional fight, a legal fight, and on days like this a street fight, yes we will stand,” Rep. Kweisi Mfume declared at  a rally in Baltimore outside the Social Security Office, adding that DOGE stands for “the department of government evil.”

So, are conservatives overreacting? Was, as his office claims, Mfume was speaking metaphorically about “winning hearts, minds, and souls”? Have we become so sensitive that what was once standard political rhetoric will now always result in feigned outrage and finger-pointing?

Perhaps. But who started it? And who keeps fanning the flames?

Look at how angry Democrat rhetoric has influenced two attempts on Trump’s life, look at all the accusations of Trump and Republican voters being fascists and Nazis, look at the never-ending stream of Trump Derangement Syndrome vitriol, and look at how the line between extremists and party leadership has blurred with increased calls for lethal violence and “extraconstitutional remedies”  that appear indistinguishable from calls for genocide—by the same people who want our guns.

Democrats tried disqualifying Donald Trump from becoming president and putting him behind bars for fanning the flames of insurrection by saying “And we fight. We fight like Hell and if you don’t fight like Hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore,” while specifically urging:

“I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”

Had they succeeded, the choice of a clear popular and electoral majority of voters would have been denied and the Democrat agenda they ended up able to vote against would now be unfolding with a vengeance.

More gun owner disarmament would be high on their list with Mfume, unable to control Third World-level crime in his district, lusting to control your guns instead (per Neighborhood Scout,  Baltimore has an inexcusably shameful total Crime Index of “1” –100 is safest– meaning 99% of U.S. cities are safer).

With their attempts to derail Trump’s election having failed, top Democrats are now characterizing the government waste-finding project Mfume calls “evil” as doing the bidding of an oligarchy /shadow government, and citing it as a “constitutional crisis.” Rep. Jamie Raskin, the son of an unabashed Marxist who had proposed risking civil war by denying  Trump’s election eligibility, is now further trying to delegitimized the elected government with a call to “impeach President Elon Musk”!

One might well wonder why Democrats are so desperately against exposing government waste, abuse, corruption, and fraud, and longtime readers of this correspondent’s work will recall investigating that is exactly how the first clues about Operation Fast and Furious “gunwalking” were uncovered.

It appears powerful politicians, bureaucrats, and public/private partners are at risk of being exposed by the DOGE efforts, and the propaganda pushback against Trump and Musk is in full force.  Hugely trafficked sites like The Drudge Report or any of the DSM outlets are running a literal psyops smear campaign against them and their MAGA agenda that is daily revealing astonishing corruption and waste.

And now, an X.com post by Mfume, actually a reply to it, may explain why he’s so against “evil” efforts to inform the public about who’s at the public trough.

“Yesterday, I joined a letter to expand an investigation into President Trump’s sweeping efforts to purge and politicize the federal government,” Mfume wrote. “In our letter, @OversightDems cited the U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee’s legislative jurisdiction over the federal civil service.”

Perhaps if “THREE HUNDRED SIXTY-SEVEN MILLION DOLLARS” had not gone to an immigration/refugee nonprofit in Maryland’s 7th Congressional District, that is, Mfume’s district, “IN A LITTLE OVER TWO MONTHS,” his complaint might be met with a little less skepticism by those familiar with the district’s politics.

Why is it that politicians like Mfume, the ones who try to deflect from being looked at too closely by inciting “street fights” that mostly hurt their own constituents, always scream the loudest for our guns?
