U.S.A. – -(Ammoland.com)- A Virginia bill for the 2020 legislative session prefiled by State Senator Louise Lucas on Nov. 21 aims to outlaw the right to train to act in concert with others to defend the community, state, and country against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Senate Bill No. 64 aims to prohibit and penalize “paramilitary activity,” declaring “A person is guilty of … a Class 5 felony if he:
“1. Teaches or demonstrates to any other person the use, application, or making of any firearm, explosive, or incendiary device, or technique capable of causing injury or death to persons, knowing or having reason to know or intending that such training will be employed for use in, or in furtherance of, a civil disorder; or
2. Assembles with one or more persons for the purpose of training with, practicing with, or being instructed in the use of any firearm, explosive, or incendiary device, or technique capable of causing injury or death to persons, intending to employ such training for use in, or in furtherance of, a civil disorder; or
3. Assembles with one or more persons with the intent of intimidating any person or group of persons by drilling, parading, or marching with any firearm, any explosive or incendiary device, or any components or combination thereof.”
1 and 2 presuppose the “civil disorder” hasn’t been precipitated by a government violence monopoly intent on usurping unconstitutional power and ignoring human rights, such as the newly Democrat-controlled State of Virginia is doing with its feeding frenzy of disarmament edicts. As the Declaration of Independence made (and still makes) clear:
“That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
Item 3 recalls the “eye of the beholder” adage.
It’s true that the Constitution, through the Second Amendment and through powers delegated to Congress and the President, define Founding intent for “the Militia of the several States.” What’s also true is those in power recognize the threat such a system poses to their continued and growing depredations, and have deliberately undermined “the whole people” with “unorganized militia” weasel-wording that leaves them sidelined while a de facto standing army exists to do the enforcement bidding of parasites intent on securing their rule over “the Blessings of Liberty.”
As Constitutional law attorney and authority Edwin Vieira, Jr., reasons:
“This institution is truly chimerical, because no constitutional Militia, by historical legal definition in America, can ever be a ‘militia’ and ‘unorganized’ at the very same time, any more than a circle can ever be a square.”
That means the Militia envisioned by George Mason is left unprovisioned, leaderless and untrained, and citizens attempting to rectify that are being declared unlawful.
A politician like Lucas can get away with that and expect nothing but support from her constituents. The demographics of her district have guaranteed her over 90% of the vote for as long as she cares to run since there are no term limits for her office. And that, of course, is the way Virginia and other states are going with the deliberate political manipulation to favor Democrats, although to point that out with real-world experience and numbers puts hapless Cassandras at risk of being smeared as “haters.”
If this diktat gets enacted, expect it to be used more as a weapon to intimidate citizens from training together. Expect even more infiltration of such groups by agents provocateur and confidential informants, including coerced friends and relatives, and orchestrated busts for the media of loose-lipped low-hanging fruit to scare the public into believing patriots are domestic terrorists.
Before getting too discouraged over that, don’t forget this has long been the case and serious men know that and exercise caution. What this really proves is that armed citizens scare the hell out of those who would rule – and I’m not necessarily talking about tools like Lucas and her enablers, who probably haven’t thought things through, but about the string-pullers who exercise real power. That’s why they are so fixated on eviscerating the Second Amendment, because they know that just as arms in moral hands can deter, repel and overcome individual attackers, so too does that work on a societal scale.
They know who the figure lying on the ground in the Virginia State Seal represents and they’ll burn the world to keep it from happening to them. What's important is for a critical mass of our countrymen to know that, too.
